The outside edge border is done with overlapping s-strokes. You could also do a comma stroke border or a mix of both.
Shannon Miller cda began painting over 20 years ago while living on Canadian Forces Base-Cold Lake in Alberta, Canada, as a hobby during the winter months. After moving to Wichita, KS, in 1998 and joining SDP, she attended that year’s SDP Convention. She began taking classes in locally owned shops and traveling to conventions and workshops as a student. During her son’s younger years, Shannon taught classes at SDP Conventions, local shops and chapters. One of her closest painting friends encouraged her to practice her strokes to finish the backs of all of her pieces. She passed her CDA in Stroke in 2011.
Shannon works full-time as a critical care nurse and painting has been a constant stress release from work. She continues to live in Wichita with her family. Now that her son is graduating high school, Shannon hopes to begin return to teaching and designing.
