PREPARATION
Using black transfer paper, transfer the design to the can- vas. Mask the perimeter of Rectangles 4 and 6, leaving the inside of each exposed for painting.
ROTATING TECHNIQUE
This technique is referred to throughout the article. It is done by applying the paint with a round brush. The size of the brush varies depending on the size of the surface being painted. Carry out this technique by making rotating, circu- lar movements. Start with paint that has been thinned (with water or an extender) to a watery consistency. As you apply the layers, continually thicken the paint until the desired transparency is achieved.
ROTATING TECHNIQUE WET-ON-WET
The colors are applied with a round brush or a cat’s tongue brush (many brush lines carry these). The paint is applied in a rotating order. Apply the first color to the surface, and then apply the second color where both of the colors meet. Wash
