STEP 1
Start with a long line, which can be curved or straight. This line will be extended into a sharp- er point later, so plan for that when you position the start of the stroke.
STEP 2
Stop the brush where the shape widens, and press down. Position the brush to one side of the line as you apply pressure.
STEP 3
Press the brush down to the ferrule, and fan the brush open on that same side.
STEP 4
Pull the brush in a curved or straight path while releasing pressure, as you would in a comma-stroke.
STEP 5
While pulling the stroke, gradually relax the brush tip up onto the chisel edge.
STEP 6
Slide on the knife edge of the chisel to form the tail.
I find this stroke is easiest when pulled from side to side. Since I am right-handed, I pull from left to right.

Extend the line you started with to a sharper point or curl with the liner loaded in the tipping color.
