LEAVES AND STEMS
Mix different values of green, some blue green and some yel- low green. Wet each leaf and stems and paint in color. Put color on all of the leaves and stems, then let dry. Now go back and add darks. When this is dry go back and paint in some lines with the rigger brush on some of the leaves and steams. Don’t paint lines on all of them; leave some without lines for variety.
SHADOWS
There are a few shadows. A shadow should be put under a petal or leaf. Look at the finished painting to see where to place them – there are just a few. Use a medium value of the color where the shadow is and just paint in that area of the shadow. Do this on dry paper.
DARKER BACKGROUND
Using a medium value of Cobalt Blue paint around the white flowers on dry paper; this will make them stand out more. You want to paint up next to the flower then rinse out your brush and with just water, fade out the color to nothing. You will need to do this a couple of times to keep from having hard lines.
Now, stand back and look at your painting. If you are satis- fied, you are finished.
