This project is inspired by a design originally painted on the bottom of a bread basket, believed to be painted by Harriet But- ler, the daughter of Aaron and Sarah Butler. Aaron Butler most likely began his apprenticeship as a tinsmith at the age of 15, and apprenticed for 3-5 years. He operated a tin shop in East Green- ville, New York, circa 1824-1855.
PREPARATION
Wash and dry tin well. Prime the basket with DecoArt Ameri-
cana Decor Metal Primer. Using the 3⁄4" wash, basecoat the entire basket Lamp (Ebony) Black.
