STEP 1
STEP 2
LET’S PAINT
FLOWER: Using the no. 8 liner and Heritage Brick, stroke in main petals. Using the no. 6 liner, paint in over-strokes. The stem is painted with True Ochre, beginning at bottom and pressing down a bit, then releasing pressure as you pull toward flower. STROKE LEAVES: Stroke in with the no. 8 liner and Avo- cado for green leaves and True Ochre for mustard leaves. ROUND LEAVES: Using the no. 8 filbert, basecoat with Avocado. Mustard strokes are True Ochre.
BLUE STROKES: Using the no. 6 liner, stoke in with a brush- mix of Victorian Blue+Lamp (Ebony) Black (1:tch).
SMALL FLOWERS: Petals are dots of Sand made with the no. 0 liner. The center is a dot of True Ochre.
LINEWORK: Lines around the sides are Sand. Using the no. 8 liner, load flat on side of puddle of Heritage Brick and stroke in large “line” on floor of pan. The line next to it is a thinner line of Sand.
FINISHING
Let entire piece dry, then finish with several coats of Deco- Art Americana Acrylic Matte Spray Sealer/Finisher.

PAINTING TIPS
When making comma-strokes, use a little less water than when mak- ing lines. Load brush from side of puddle, pressing down to be sure to get all the bristles moistened with paint. Press down at top of stroke and slowly release pressure as you pull to the tail (if you release pressure too quickly, you will have angles), ending on the tip of the brush. Use one fluid motion to pull stroke.
