INAUGURAL OF VALUE ADDED COURSE BY DEPARTMENT OF
CHEMISTRY
The Department of Chemistry has started a Certificate Course in Chemistry on the topic Chemistry in Every
Day Life from 29-09-2023 for the II B.Sc. all sections and IIBA Groups. All those students who are
interested in joining the course should give their names to the Chemistry- in- Charge Smt.K.R.MANJULA.
OBJECTIVE OF THE COURSE:
This 30 hours dedicated course on Chemistry in everyday life will bring many phenomenon before the
students that they observe on a regular basis but don’t know the chemistry behind it.
This Certificate Course will give the students the required General awareness & Alertness while carrying out
their daily routine
There are many questions which remain unanswered due to the lack of our approach towards general
chemistry. At the end of course Students will understand the Chemistry behind the various products they are
using.They can Explore the organic chemistry behind Toothpaste, Phenyl, Soaps, Detergents, Disinfectants,
Dyes, Sanitizer and Role of Polymers in our daily Life. They will gain Knowledge on the importance of
Carbohydrates, Vitamins, Minerals and Preservatives, the safety Rules, Chemical hazards, and Handling of
Samples.
