can remain connected to the system until they arrive safely to their car or to the nearest public
transportation stop, before disconnecting.
If you are using a personal device and do not have access to a WIFI network, some data will be
used. The Company will not assume any cost related to data charges incurred.
In order to reduce data consumption, we suggest you send a text message instead of a voicemail.
Responsibilities and obligations of EMPLOYEES working alone:
Connect to the system Safetyline as soon as the employee works alone in the store for
more than one hour (excluding the presence of customers in the store).
Report their presence and confirm they are safe when requested by the system
Disconnect from the system Safetyline when the employee is no longer working alone
Reduce the risks associated with working alone at all times. I.e. Avoid tasks that require
the use of a stepladder, avoid handling heavy objects, arguing with difficult customers,
etc.
Responsibilities and obligations of the STORE MANAGEMENT TEAM:
Inform and train employees on expectations regarding the policy and procedure of the
Security Mate program
Regularly reiterate the importance of using the system Safetyline when working alone
Lead by example by following the required instructions when working alone and promote
best practices
Follow up on reports received to ensure employees are using the system when working
alone
If necessary, apply the appropriate disciplinary measures should employees not be using
the program as outlined
Responsibilities and obligations of the HUMAN RESOURCES TEAM:
Annual review of the program and procedures to ensure the effectiveness and protection
of all employees. Make recommendations and changes as needed
Administer the Security Mate program
Promote the usage and importance of the Security Mate program
Provide statistics reports to the store management team measuring the use of the
program
Support and coach management teams on disciplinary measures
