Wiggins hopes to someday offer her goods through local stores in Oconee County, but maneuvering the maze of licensing requirements has proven challenging for a full-time educator and parent.
In the meantime, her approach to business mirrors her bulldog’s approach to getting one of those cupcakes: a lot of patience and just the right amount of tenacity.
“A couple of my friends have warned me not to let [the business end] crush your desire to bake. I’ve been taking it one step at a time,” said Wiggins. “I’ve gotten really excited about it, but I have to be patient.”
Having resorted to noisily chomping one of his chew toys, Blue finally earns Wiggins’ attention—and a treat. “With teaching and with baking,” she added, “it’s important to stay calm.”
