and it was time to walk down the aisle. Lyndsey was escorted by her father and carried that perfect fall bouquet with a little something extra tied in: a cross that belonged to her Nanny, Tammy’s mother.
Lyndsey walked down the aisle on her father’s arm to “Hallelujah” by Brian Green. She and Chase stood together to braid a unity cross, which became her favorite part of the ceremony. Once they entered the reception, they didn’t leave the dance floor.
“The weather was perfect, the food was perfect, the music was perfect,” Lyndsey recalled.
At one point, all of the firefighters put on their fire helmets and began line dancing. Athens artist Jamie Calkin was also on hand to capture the big day in ink and watercolor.
The reception was catered by Kelly’s Catering. Dessert was a simple 4-tier vanilla almond sweetheart wedding cake made by Laurie Duncan, as well as a chocolate groom’s cake decorated like a fire emblem.
“I hoped that my wedding would be a big celebration—a very happy day “ said Lyndsey. “It was the perfect day in a time when so many things have not been even close.”
Tammy added that in a time of uncertainty, people want to go back to what they call normal.
“What I want people to remember is that life goes on,” she said, reflecting on the past year. “What’s important is that you do take the time to celebrate with family and friends.”
The happy couple was ecstatic when they were formally introduced as Mr. and Mrs. Chase Lee.
