Emmanuel College’s head bass fishing coach, Pam Martin-Wells, has high expectations of the Oconee native.
“It helps when you have good enough grades to where it’s not all about fishing,” Bargfrede said. “I have to keep up with schoolwork because academics definitely come first, and then it’s your sport.”
Bargfrede plans to study agriculture business while at the Franklin Springs campus. One day, he’d like to own his own business. A professional fishing career is also in the running.
Going pro may be a long way away, but national tournaments at Emmanuel College could be the stepping stone he needs to get there. For
