VIRTUAL MUSEUM TOURS CLUB
               P A G E 2 0

This worldwide pandemic has thwarted plans to visit, to travel and to tour but it isn’t so far-
fetched. You can enter a whole new world just with the click of a computer keyboard.

The Virtual Museum Tours Club, headed by Mr Akinola, is a club where you step into new

cultures and grand sites, not physically but virtually. With modern-day technology, virtual

learning, which is the art of learning and exploring places that are enhanced by utilizing computers
and the internet, we can visit various museums on certain sites to explore historical wonders, the

world of art and how it has evolved during the years.

In the past four weeks, we have visited various museums via Google Earth, Google Arts and

Culture, YouVist.com et cetera. These include:
                  The Louvre Museum, France

                  Metropolitan Museum of Art

                  The Dali Museum

 Saatchi Gallery- We saw the exhibition: The Revolution Continues: New Chinese Art"

                  The Hudson River Museum
                  Tate Britain

                 Just to mention a few.

We also look at different aspects, periods of art and
various artists from those times who came out

successful. So far we have looked at Andy Warhol,

an American artist who was a leading figure in the
visual movement known as Pop Art and David

Hockney, a British Painter who is also a leading
figure in the Pop art movement and is alive till

date. His works can be seen in Tate Britain.

This club is very informative, as it broadens our

minds and enlightens us on all the intuitive work of
mankind and it’s deeper meaning. I’m really glad it

was introduced. As long as it continues, due to
current events in the world, don't you dare miss it.
