On behalf of the Singapore
Shipping Association (SSA),
I would like to warmly
congratulate the Mariners
Cricket Club (MCC) on their
15th anniversary. The efforts of
MCC in keeping the maritime
community engaged through
sports, and also encouraging
social networking through events such as the annual Mariners
Night Dhamaka are commendable.

I am delighted at how MCC, established in 2005, has brought
people from all walks of life in the maritime industry together
with their common love for cricket. Indeed, it is heartening that
MCC is enlarging its maritime fraternity through football too.

This year has been challenging with the ongoing COVID-19
pandemic impacting everyone. While it is regretted that social
activities such as the MCC annual Mariners Night have to take
a back seat for now, I congratulate the team for this souvenir
magazine to mark your 15th anniversary.

The road ahead may be tough. But through the passionate good
work of MCC to promote the social, physical, and general welfare
of members through sports, I believe the mariners’ fraternity
will weather the current challenges and emerge stronger to
better navigate the future.
