New legislation from the International Maritime Organization (IMO) on Emission Control Areas is changing the fuels used
by the shipping industry. The drive to introduce marine fuels with increasingly lower sulphur content – both HFO and
distillate grades – is presenting a challenge for the marine industry.
Whether you are staying with HFO or changing to marine diesel fuels, Innospec has the solution. From 1 January 2020, there
will be a mandatory requirement to use marine fuels with a maximum sulphur content of 0.5% by mass. In preparation for
