“A thing of beauty,” John Keats once wrote, “is a joy forever.” And, while the 19th century poet probably didn’t have carry-on suitcases and finely stitched sneakers in mind when he put his thoughts to paper, the sentiment stands true today. Because each of these items — whether it be an angular aluminum chair or choice chess set — has been crafted with care, produced with artistry, and will be passed down for generations to come. “Its loveliness increases,” Keats added, describing the individuality and value of such trinkets or treasures. “It will never pass into nothingness.”
