CHAPTER EIGHT


            “ANOTHER
            CHRISTIAN REBELLION IS PUT DOWN”


            Looking back at ‘Our Trout’, in Book three, there are one or two further stories that could
            be of interest revolving around ‘The Lincolnshire Council of Churches’ in the Lincoln
            Diocese.


            As I have mentioned in previous stories, I joined this august body together with ‘The
            Sponsoring Body for Ecumenical Partnership’,  while living in New Bolingbroke in about
            1979 at the behest of our local vicar the Revd. David Loake.


            They needed a Lincolnshire representative from the Anglican Church on these two
            organisations that ran in tandem and held their meetings at the same time. David as
            secretary to the two bodies needed someone to help him with the meeting minutes.





































                                    The Bishops Palace at Lincoln, our meetings were always held here.
                                                     The Cathedral stands just behind.



            Meetings were held in the Bishop’s Palace at Lincoln Cathedral and held every two
            months if I remember correctly. Each time the chairman was The Bishop of Lincoln, or his
            equivalent from the different religious denominations making up the whole body.


            We had the good fortune to meet and work closely with the Roman Catholic Bishop of
