History
ILLIRIA was built in 1968 in Rimini, Italy by Cantieri Carlini, one of the principal builders of S&S designs at that time. She is a RORC class sloop with separate rudder and fin keel with trim tab, to
design #1777-C2.
She is one of 3 sisters; the first ASSEGAI II was built by Berthon in Lymington. Design #1777-C1 named AJA was built by Broderna Martinssons Varv AB of Sweden. These boats were designed with a
long keel, different interior layout and retrousse transoms. ILLIRIA retains the traditional counter and transom. She was built for Dott.Ing. Barbanti, who owned her for 42 years.
