Larger chert clusters correlated with higher coarse aggregate content, supporting the idea that production parameters can regulate grain size distribution.
This study significantly advances environmental sustainability in mining and construction industries. It demonstrates that advanced processing technologies can substantially reduce the energy required for chert rock crushing, minimizing raw material extraction and greenhouse gas emissions. The findings also provide a practical solution for repurposing millions of tons of mining waste into high- quality aggregates for engineering applications, thereby reducing production costs and improving the energy efficiency of mineral processing operations. Additionally, the results offer a foundation for future advancements in green construction and sustainable resource management.
