Moses was born in 1525 B.C. and grew up in the courts of Pharaohs Thutmose
I and II and Queen Hatshepsut. As mentioned in the book of Acts he was,
“learned in all the wisdom of the Egyptians.” At the age of 40, after killing an
Egyptian taskmaster, Moses ed to the land of Midian for the next 40 years.
There he met his wife Zipporah and had two sons.

At God’s direction, Moses returned to lead the su ering Israelites out of Egypt.
And to do so he had to deliver God’s message to the most powerful ruler in
the world at that time – the Pharaoh of Egypt. This pharaoh was Amenhotep
II, the pharaoh of the Exodus.

Previous pharaohs had been favorable to the Hebrews, but after the death of
Joseph another Egyptian king saw the Hebrews as cheap slave labor. So
began a long period of su ering. It was in the midst of this anguish that God
sent Moses to deliver a message of deliverance. The resistance of Amenhotep
II towards this message from God to let His people go set into motion a series
of cataclysmic events like the world had never seen. Through the strong hand
of God, the people of Israel were freed after 430 years of living in Egypt.

Moses stands out throughout history as a great leader chosen by God for
          monumental tasks.
