For f d, the Ark would probably
have ca ied compre ed and dried
f ds, as we as grain and hay.
Experts calculate that the volume
of f dstus would have bn
only about 15% of the Ark’s total
volume and may have bn stored
close to the animals.
With the abundant rain, rainwater was
likely co ected and would have likely
taken up, at most, 9% of the space. The
plan that God gave Noah may have also
included water piped into troughs.
Excretory requirements
could have bn handled
through sloped fl rs or
slaed cages, where the
manure could fa away
from the animals and be
flushed away by the
abundant water. Absorbent
materials like sawdust and
peat mo could have also
reduced the moisture
content and odor.
The Bible does not rule out
the po ibility of
hibernation during some of
the fl d. But there was
sti space, even if the
animals had normal
day/night slping cycles.
Jesus Christ himself spoke of
Noah and said the conditions
upon his return would be the
same “as in the days of Noah.”
Both Christ and the Bible
are trusted sources on
maers of faith, morals,
history, and science.
