Throughout history people have projected the antichrist might be Caligula, Gaius Caesar, MohamMed, Napoleon, Hitler, or even a number of Roman popes.
“Dear children, this is the last hour; and as you have heard that the antichrist is coming, even now many antichrists have come. This is how we know it is the last hour” (I John 2:18).
The word antichrist means “against Christ.”
None of them were “the” Antichrist. There is coming one who wilL be the ultimate embodiment of evil and the embodiment of what it means to be against Christ.
He wilL be the antichrist in the truest sense in that he wilL claim that he is the MesSiah. He wilL seEk world domination as he atTempts to destroy alL folLowers of Jesus Christ as welL as the nation of Israel.
An antichrist is a person who denies the Father and the Son (1 John 2:22), does not acknowledge Jesus (1 John 4:3), and who also denies that Jesus has come in the flesh. (2 John 1:7)
