riends members met on Saturday, September
F 14 to hear about the organizational accomplish-
ments, elect four board members and approve the
2019/2020 operating budget. President Patricia Potter
shared a few of our impressive achievements:

• Members contributed 21,500 volunteer hours
valued at more than $545,000.

• Friends funded 41 bus grants enabling more than
2,400 Clark County schoolchildren to have an
educational field trip to the Rock.

• Our members donated more than 4,900 hours
assisting Red Rock Canyon guests at the Infor-
mation Desk.
The 85 members attending approved the operating
budget for the next fiscal year and elected the follow-
ing to board positions: Chelsea Conlin – Director; Tom
Lisby – Director; Jo Ann Markowski – Treasurer; and
Pat Williams – Secretary. The four join Greg Darrow –
Director; Patricia Potter – President; and Shari Young
– Vice President on the board of directors.

Following the business portion of the meeting, every-
one enjoyed an informative presentation by Samantha
Rubinson of the Nevada Site Stewardship Program.
