groups. The group had already sent overnight letters to Senators
Bible and Cannon, Congressman Baring and Secretary of the
Interior Stewart Udall.
As you can imagine, their action resulted in a flurry of phone
calls and letters between all parties involved and must have had
Hess thinking about a career change. The only people smiling at
this point were the attorneys.
In the end the claim was invalidated and the rest of the work
site filled in. The whole affair wound down as quickly as it mate-
rialized. The only questions that remain are why Terrestrial Mon-
arch felt a hidden cavern was located in the quarry area and what
was the treasure they sought?
