Each year, we recognize outstanding members and community partners who contribute to the success of the
organization. The Red Spring, Willow Spring, Grand Circle, Director’s and Best Friend Awards are
presented at the Friends of Red Rock Annual Volunteer Appreciation and Awards Banquet.
The Red Spring Award is presented to the member who has made extraordinary contributions
regarding community outreach, environmental education and preservation or protection of
culturally significant areas of Red Rock Canyon.
The Willow Springs Award is presented to the member who has made exceptional
contributions to the physical and/or aesthetic enjoyment of Red Rock Canyon.
The Grand Circle Award is presented to the member who has made outstanding contributions
to Red Rock Canyon in multiple areas such as: events, tortoise habitat, fund raising,
information desk, trail work or graffiti removal.
The Director’s Award is presented to a member who has made outstanding contributions to
the organizational image and/or infrastructure of Friends of Red Rock Canyon and who has
exemplified the spirit of Friends of Red Rock Canyon.
The Best Friend Award celebrates the lighter moments of volunteer service and honors those
individuals who provide morale boosters through actions or motivation as well as
recognizing the value of camaraderie and volunteer service enjoyment.
Detailed written nominations are submitted by the board and committee chairs for a vote. After reviewing
multiple nominations, the voting committee has the difficult task of selecting the award recipients.
As some of our award recipients were unable to attend the banquet to receive their awards, those persons
will be recognized at the Quarterly Meeting on February 18 at Bonnie Springs Ranch.
