As we go to press on this issue of the
September/October Texas Police Journal,
the Texas Police Association would like to
take this time and opportunity to say that
our thoughts and prayers go out to all our
fellow Texans that have been affected by
Hurricane Harvey.
The damage left behind by the storm was
devastating, but we are blessed to reside in
such a great state where our emergency
managers and first responders worked
tirelessly to ensure that those in the path of
the storm were taken care of prior to and
immediately after the storm. First
responders (police, fire, ems) and citizens
came together quickly to rescue residents
and protect property! While I know that
the first responders there was only a small
part
of our resources, others routinely stay
behind to continue protecting and serving
our everyday needs locally.
In no surprising way, Texans came together
to get the job done and continue to do so!
Please continue to keep those in the
affected areas in your thoughts and prayers
and consider donating whatever it is that
you can spare for those in need to help
speed up the recovery process.
With God’s good grace and hard work, Texas will
rebuild and continue to be … Texas Strong!
