Load Transfer Platform
• Load Transfer platform play an important role in Stone column
system
• Failure in providing a suitable load transfer platform may cause
failure to stone column system
• “Mushroom Effect” on embankment finish level may happen if soil
arching did not take place in the stone column system.
• Generally Granular Blanket is sufficient but if soil arching is an issue,
Geosynthetic basal reinforcement can be adopted for a better load
transfer.
