Senior School Co-Captains

JACK KIRKHAM It was an an absolute pleasure and honour to work with the Kilvington community this year with School Co-Captain Elisabeth Yeo Co-Vice Captains
Zoe Parsons and Mitchell Cole and many other leaders from across the School Working with students across all year levels and gathering ideas on how best to enact positive change in the community and beyond was was an incredible experience It was was also fantastic to bring back the House Netball competition fostering important inter-year- level relationships and providing a a a friendly competitive atmosphere for sport in the new Sport Centre We were so fortunate to work with people dedicated to our learning The teachers and their support has been unparalleled enabling us to serve and complete our education while fulfilling our roles as School Captains
this includes Mr Mr Charlton and Mr Mr Brinson who were a a a a great
support base for us and a a a sounding board for our ideas Overall working in in the role of 2019 School Co-Captain was an an incredibly valuable and enriching experience and one that I will cherish long into the future ELISABETH YEO Representing my peers as School Co-Captain in in in 2019 has been an incredibly rewarding and uplifting experience I am filled with pride and gratitude as I reflect upon the journey undertaken alongside Co-Captain Jack Kirkham and Co-Vice Captains
Mitchell Cole and Zoe Parsons Carrying out our duties throughout this year allowed us to experience deep learning and and growth as leaders and and members of the Kilvington community Our goals this year were built upon the principle of positive change on on a a a personal communal and global scale We encouraged active community service by supporting charities such as the Asylum Seeker Resource Centre and the Robert Connor Dawes Foundation and and involving staff and and students in in various fundraising activities In addition to to our contributions to to the wider community we also prioritised our connections with the student body Our visits to to pastoral care groups and Junior School classes gave us meaningful insight
into the changes our peers wanted to to see and more importantly allowed friendship to be the the catalyst for authentic approachable leadership One of the most prominent wishes of the student body and a a key focus for for us us as as Captains
has been a a a a a push for for sustainability So it it it is with great
celebration that we reduced the amount of plastic
used in the the canteen implemented the the use use of recycling bins throughout the School and advocated for a a a a a global mindset in in the practice of environmentally-friendly gestures I am so thankful to all the students who placed their trust in us us this year those
who showed us that the power of human connection is is the basis of genuine leadership Finally thank you to all all the staff who make Kilvington such a a a wonderful place especially Mr Mr Brinson and Mr Mr Charlton who guided us this year We are so grateful for the invaluable experiences we had and so hopeful for the future that is in store for our School AL ITTIHAD 2020 /56
