 Beyond the classroom

What do you like about sport at Seaford?
It’s all connected. We did a session this morning at 6.45am; the boys were doing rugby and the girls were doing netball and we were all together. Sport has really developed at Seaford and the coaching has improved tremendously. I like being part of a successful team. I’m in the first teams for both hockey and netball. I love helping with the Prep School Sports Day and Cross Country and the little ones love having a Sixth Former there.
Do you do anything outside of school?
Sport on Saturday and I have family time on Sunday. I get my prep done during my boarding sessions so I have time for socialising with my family at the weekend.
To relax I watch YouTube or have a laugh with the girls in the boarding house. I think socialising with everyone, even in the final year of school, is important, you forget about your worries! It’s a really supportive community.
Seaford has amazing pastoral help. Mrs Strange has been there the whole time and Father Colin is so funny and nice. They’ve seen and known my journey and seen me grow. We have a nice connection in the Pink House. The introduction of Peer Mentors has helped students know who they can talk to if they don’t want to go to the Pink House. Seaford has a warm and comforting environment. Rupert and I were Head Peer Mentors last year. We still go to Seaford Prep School to catch up with the little ones.
“I love Seaford because of the community. Everyone is interlinked in some way. And also the sport — I love the sport. I’m in the first team for hockey and second team for netball. I love being in a team. I think it’s lovely to get into the fresh air and run and be with your friends and accomplish something together.”
