When did you start boarding?
I started boarding in Year 10 it helped with my GCSEs as I had more time to work. I don’t get distracted like I would at home, as prep time in the boarding house is very structured and you therefore meet your deadlines. Everyone is doing prep at the same time so there is nothing else to do. I also do my prep in my private study time.
Do any teachers inspire you?
Mr Cobb. He was my rugby coach last year and he’s so dedicated both on and off the pitch. He’s helped me massively with getting myself organised and on-track. He supports me in my boarding house in his role as a Resident Tutor. He’s a great character.

What do you like about boarding?
I’m a boarder in Walled Garden East, I enjoy it as you help to look after the younger students. I have a Deputy who helps and we’ll be choosing Prefects after half term. It helps me to learn leadership skills.
What duties do you have as Head of House (boarding)?
I look after the younger students and encourage them to clean the kitchen etc. I work with a Deputy.
“Boarding at Seaford is one big sleepover! You‘re constantly with your mates which is really good fun. There’s a lot of respect though. I get the evening time to do my work. It helps with your independence and study.”
