Summary of Programme
for Year 9:
All students get the opportunity
to experience a number of mini
projects within a variety of existing
materials in the Year 9 DT carousel
(including Resistant Materials,
Electronics and Graphics). These
are linked to subject skills that are
further developed at GCSE. Classes
are delivered by subject specialists
and groups rotate through each of
the different areas regularly.
Does the Year 9 course include
any elements of the GCSE?
We will touch on some aspects
of the GCSE but will mainly be
focusing on different topics and
skills throughout the year.
Drama

Summary of Programme
for Year 9:
Students develop the skills
required for the GCSE Drama
course through material tailored
to Year 9. Over the year, students
will devise original performances
utilising various genres and styles
of theatre, perform scripted
extracts from plays and review
live theatre from the view of the
actor. This course involves some
written work where students must
write evaluations of their own
performances, but the key focus
will be developing creative and
practical performance skills.
Does the Year 9 course include
any elements of the GCSE?
This year will touch on some of the
practical and written elements of
the GCSE course but will mainly
focus on theatre as an art form,
performing and creating it.
