Performing Arts
We have seen many spectacular performances from our scholars already this year, including during the Autumn Concert, the lunchtime concerts and the scholars’ showcases. The ensembles, choirs, troupes and groups they belong to have married beautifully alongside solo works to prove that their individual efforts have been further enhanced by collaborative attainment. Many were involved in ‘Find Me’ (our Senior play) and brought depth and pathos to an intriguing and thought-provoking theme. They are also heavily involved in ‘The Phantom of the Opera’ rehearsals having led the way beautifully with excellence in auditions.
Sports Scholars
Sports scholars have this term had talks from Nick Easter (former Harlequins and England rugby player) and Alex Danson-Bennett MBE (former England and Great Britain hockey player). Our scholars and the wider College community got to meet two world class athletes who have played and coached at the highest level. It also gave them an opportunity to ask questions that relate to themselves, academic PE topics and gain an insight into what it takes to be a professional athlete. The coaching masterclasses were amazing, and the Q&A sessions explored some of the topics below. This was an invaluable learning experience for all scholars and staff. Other talks from the Sports Scholars Lecture series this term include:
1. Reviewing Performance with Andy Key
2. Habits for Winners with Jacqueline Weeks 3. Master Your Mind with Andy McBride
4. Nesting Planning with Marcus Sharrad
