RORY MINTON
Achieved A* and 2 As
Heading to Cardiff University to study
Mechanical Engineering.
“I’m feeling very happy, especially with my Physics result. To
be predicted a B and get an A* is unreal. I’m over the moon. I
worked hard and it’s been a great working environment.
I was a Sports and Academic Scholar at Seaford. I came for
Sixth Form from a good academic school, and it’s really paid
off. I played rugby, at fly-half, and when the captain was away
[playing for England], I stepped in as skipper. As a team, we
were able to play at places like Sedbergh and Rosslyn Park,
and do pre-season training in Italy.
I love Seaford because of the endless opportunities it gives
students.”

HAMISH WILLIAMS
Achieved 3 As and EPQ A*
Heading to Bristol University to study
International Business Management
and Spanish.
“You don’t get pigeon-holed at Seaford, and we're encouraged to try new
things. So doing performing arts – like acting, choreography, music and stage
building – I got to talk to a whole different cohort of people that I probably
wouldn't speak to normally in classes or in the common room.
I have a love of languages, which has only grown at Seaford, and acting has
really helped with that, as you learn to read people, which is something you
need when doing languages. It also helped with my sports. My main sports
were rugby, hockey and athletics.
On the academic side, the support from teachers has been amazing, especially
things like exam technique which is so important at A Level.
I love Seaford because it offers a wide variety of things to do, and it’s a school
for the whole family.”

NOAH PEIRSON
Achieved A* and 2As
Heading to the University of York to study
Music and Sound Recording.
“When I came to the Sixth Form Evening at Seaford, Mr Green
(Headmaster) said it should be the best two years of my life,
and genuinely, it has been. I’ve had such a great time, had
great teachers and got good exam results at the end.
The love I've got for acting since I've been here has been great.
In the past, it's something I've just done, whereas now it’s
something I do that I love, which is a really, really good thing.
I love Seaford because it has given me the opportunity to do
things I love, and I’ve discovered new things that I want to do
for the rest of my life.”

“Seaford’s got a real sense of community, and the teachers really care and keep in touch
with you. Seaford is different – it’s a lot more than just the education. And when you drive
up the driveway, how can it not put you in a good frame of mind?
I have to say that the food is very good too. And being able to work on a full stomach is very
important for Rory!
Rory has worked hard at his rugby and has taken that positive attitude into the classroom.
So many schools finish sport when you do your A Levels, whereas at Seaford you carry on
with timetabled sessions each week, and I think that’s so important for this age group.
In the end, I love Seaford because there’s a real sense of community, and we loved making
friends with other parents on the sidelines at rugby matches.”

SCARLETT ALVARES
Achieved Distinction*, Distinction and 2 Cs
Heading to the University of West London
to study Culinary Arts Management.
“I’m very happy with my results, especially the Distinction* in Media.
I always get really stressed during exams, and I'm really grateful that
all of my teachers were there to support me, which I think led me to
having this great outcome now. We had our regular assessments, and
it was good to have consistent practice.
It was also great to have support from No. 46 (Seaford’s wellbeing
hub), especially during the exams, which helped me to stay calm and
composed.
I’ve made some great friends, and I’ve enjoyed the school grounds
and the sports, the gym in particular.
I love Seaford because of the whole journey I’ve been through. It’s
been so great and has enabled me to get these results.”

MRS WELCH
Proud mum of Will
Will achieved Distinction, B & C
Will has a job at a game reserve in South Africa
for his gap year before heading to university to
study Agriculture.
"Will’s decision to transfer to Seaford for Sixth Form has been his best decision to
date. The array of subjects enabled him to take two A Levels and a BTEC, a
combination which worked perfectly for Will.
Seaford values every pupil equally, regardless of what qualifications you choose to
study. We have found this very refreshing in an era that places a disproportionate
emphasis on results. We have also been struck by how engaging all the staff and
students are. Everyone is polite, always ready to have a chat and help. It is this
relaxed but supportive culture which enables the students to thrive.
We are thrilled that Will surpassed his predictions, but we are equally delighted
that he made the most of the extra-curricular opportunities.
Will embarks on a gap year with confidence, terrific memories and friends for life.
Thank you."
