GCSE Triple Science
Studying GCSE Science opens students’ eyes to the world around them. It is not
only the window into the fascinating living and non-living parts of the universe,
but it can also spawn a lifelong interest in the sciences, which could be vital to
solving problems of the past, present and future.
At Seaford, we offer a variety of pathways through GCSE Science. At the end
of Year 9, up to half the year group are invited to study the separate GCSEs in
Biology, Chemistry and Physics (Triple Science) to achieve 3 GCSE grades. The
other option is to study towards the Combined Science at either Higher or
Foundation level, leading to 2 GCSE grades.
Years 10 and 11 build upon the foundations of the GCSE course which are taught
throughout Year 9. Practical work forms an essential and stimulating part of the
course, carried out through Year 10 and 11, and is examined during the written
examinations taken at the end of the course.
