GCSE Graphical Communication
Graphic Design is the profession of visual communication that combines images,
words and ideas to convey information to an audience.
Suppose you want to announce or sell something, persuade someone, explain a
complicated system or demonstrate a process. If you use any visual medium at
all, you are using a form of visual communication called graphic design.
Graphic design is the most universal of all the arts. It is around us explaining,
identifying and imposing meaning on the world. It is on the streets, in everything
we read, it is on our bodies. We engage with design in road signs, adverts, film
posters, albums, magazines, packaging, business identity, logos on our t-shirts,
and washing labels on our jackets.
In this course you will explore, experiment and problem-solve, aiming to
communicate the right message to a target audience effectively, combining and
composing text with hand-created and digital media.
