Case Statement Our Chapter House Tri Delta believes that housing is an important aspect of fraternity life that can enhance the collegiate living and learning experience. As such, the Fraternity is committed to providing safe and comfortable housing for its collegiate members. Here at USC we not only strive to provide a safe home but also a beautiful one. Originally built in 1897, the Tri Delta house is one of the few homes on The Row that was originally built as a single family residence. It was purchased for Tri Delta by the Theta Xi House Corporation in 1929 from the original owner, John H. Norton. Since that time, House Corporation has worked vigorously to create warm and inviting spaces for our chapter members. We continuously update the house to meet all city and university safety guidelines while being mindful of protecting many of the original architectural details. Our current House Corporation Board is made up of Tri Delta Alumnae from all across the nation who generously donate their time to maintain the chapter house, ensure its financial stability, and create a beautiful and safe home for its collegiate members. Our Need The original footprint of the kitchen, mini/weekend kitchen and butler’s pantry in our historic home was not originally designed to meet the daily needs of 200+ individuals. As the chapter grows, the staff is finding it more and more difficult to prepare the mass quantity of food needed to sustain our members in such a small and inefficient space. Due to the lack of serving space, food is currently being served in the dining room taking up much needed seating space. We have also significantly outgrown our storage and refrigeration space and are in need of upgrades to our commercial kitchen equipment. Our Goal To provide a home that will fulfill the needs of current Theta Xi women and look to the future of the chapter, we are working with architects on a plan that allows us to keep the historical integrity of our home all while addressing the fact that the chapter has outgrown our current
