FAQ (Continued) The rent for the undergraduate members to live in the house will be decided by the House Corporation board, and will be competitive with the other campus living amenities. Currently, rent is set at $425 a month. How do I make a gift? All campaign contributes should be sent to our Campaign Headquarters so that they can be properly processed and acknowledged. Please complete the enclosed pledge form and submit it today! Will my donation be tax deductible? Due to IRS Tax Laws, we are unable to make donations tax deductible. The IRS Tax Laws restrict tax deductible gifts to fraternal and sorority organizations as strictly reserved for educational space within the house. Since this is a renovation and the construction of sleeping accommodations, there will be no new educational space created with the project, and therefore no tax deductible opportunities. My company has a matching gift program; can I apply it to my pledge? Unfortunately, since the contributions are not tax deductible, it is unlikely that a matching gift program will be applicable. However, please make a note on your pledge form and we will follow up if we are able to take advantage of the match. Can I make a stock gift? You may utilize appreciated stock to fulfll your campaign pledge commitment. I would like to add Lambda House Association to my will; can I make an estate gift? While all gifts are welcome, the campaign needs actual dollars in order to complete the construction. However, if you wish to designate a gift through your will, trust, life insurance, or by some other means directly to the House Corporation, your attorney or counsel can use this sample language: “I leave the sum of $XX,XXX.XX to Lambda House Association of Pi Kappa Phi at the University of Georgia c/o the National Fraternity of Pi Kappa Phi, P.O. Box 240526 Charlotte, NC 28224.” Can I give something to the house in-kind? In-kind gifts will be reviewed and evaluated on a case-by-case basis by the Campaign Steering Committee.
