Our Home, Our Legacy Campaign
Brothers,
It is an exciting time for Iota Upsilon! Since our founding 20 years ago, we have dreamt of the day when we
would have a house on Georgia Southern’s Greek Row. Now I have the honor of announcing that our dream is
becoming a reality! It is time for Iota Upsilon to continue our legacy in a new, permanent, home.
As you know, we are currently located on Main Street in the heart of Statesboro, and the house has been in a state
of disrepair for some time now. While it has never been the intention for this house to be the permanent home of
Iota Upsilon, over time, the house’s infrastructure has deteriorated, and it has become obvious that it no longer
meets the needs of our undergraduate members. Now is the time to move our legacy forward!
Two years ago, the House Corporation acquired a piece of property on Greek Row. Since then, we have watched
the chapter grow and prosper in ways that we never dreamed. With a chapter size of over 100 brothers, it is now
more important than ever to begin construction on our new home. This house will not only serve as an important
rush tool, but it will also serve as a symbol of how far we have come as a chapter. Additionally it will provide a
meeting place for all alumni when they visit campus and provide active members a place to call home for many
years to come.
We have chosen to undergo a capital campaign in order to ensure we have the necessary funds available for the
project. With an estimated project cost of $1 million, we have carefully considered the capability of our alumni,
and through that process, set a goal of $400,000. The remaining $600,000 will be fnanced through a loan. A
portion of all chapter dues will be directed to help fund the project as well. We are in the beginning stages of
reaching this goal, but in order to be successful we must have a broad base of alumni support. Your fnancial
commitment is key to continuing the legacy of Iota Upsilon.
Please take a moment to review the enclosed information about the campaign. It describes the plans we have
in place for this project. I assure you, you will be will pleased. This is truly a once in a lifetime opportunity to
position Iota Upsilon for continuous success at Georgia Southern University and I hope you will help us succeed.
