Page 6 - Aspire to...Shine
P. 6
I remember a recent time when I needed to make a different decision in my personal life and I kept putting it off. I became more and more irritable around the people who cared most about me. I didn’t notice it but they sure did!
My choice to not make a decision was a decision and it was incongruent with what I wanted in my life. Even our bodies tell us when we are out of alignment with ourselves through that terrible feeling in the pit of our stomachs. We cannot shine when we are out of alignment within.
In order to understand what matters most, define what you value. Our actions reflect what we truly value so take a look at yours. For example:
• If you value respect, you have to be respectful
• If you want to be recognized for the value you bring to your company, you must contribute beyond a mediocre level and truly perform
• If you want to make a difference, you have to
help others see what is possible and shine the light their way
You do not shine alone. We are all dependent on others in some way. Maybe it is your boss or a co-worker. Maybe you are lucky enough to have a coach who can help you think and awaken your potential. If you hang with people who look for ways to improve their own lives, you too will be inspired to evolve.
