Years ago, I took my daughter to the water park.
She has always been a fearless adventurer and I will never forget our walking up what seemed like a thousand steps to the top of the biggest slide. She was full of excitement and anticipation
while the “little people in my brain” (AKA self-talk) started
talking trash. Loudly! “What are we doing? Have I lost my mind?
What if she gets hurt? What if I get hurt and she is alone? How high
up is this slide? When is the last time the slide was checked for malfunctions? I wonder if their employees know
CPR because I might just have a heart attack right now!”You get the picture.
As we got to the top, my baby looked at me and said, “Don’t worry, Mama! This is going to be so much fun!”
