1985 – Alliance of Marine Mammal

2013 – International Marine Animal
Trainers’ Association (IMATA) Applications are accepted quarterly. Engagement and other requirements apply.
IMATA’s Accreditation for Animal Trainer Development
Programs recognizes facilities with outstanding systems for
training animal care staff in the science and art of animal
training while employing positive reinforcement.
2016 – American Humane
Humane Conservation™ is a certification program of American
Humane, the first national humane organization in America
and the world’s largest certifier of the welfare and humane
treatment of animals in working and other environments.
Brookfield Zoo was the first zoo in the world to achieve the
program’s Humane Certified™ seal, which recognizes facilities
that meet the highest standards of animal care.
2019 – National Inclusion Project
The nonprofit group promotes the inclusion of children with
disabilities and special needs in activities with peers who are
non-disabled. Brookfield Zoo’s Zoo Camp was one of the first
programs to be accredited. Zoo Camp has also been accredited
by the American Camp Association, the accreditation organization
for camps in North America.
