Zoological Society and Brookfield Zoo: we
$2.14 million value finalized our five-year Strategic Plan, recommitting
to inspire conservation leadership, engage our
of service to the Society communities, and restore wildlife populations
and people’s connection to nature. We began
looking toward 2019, the 100-year anniversary
of Edith Rockefeller McCormick’s donation of
83 acres of land to the Forest Preserves of Cook
County—the donation that spurred the creation
of CZS and Brookfield Zoo.
While we are filled with momentum as
we charge forward into our organization’s next
chapter, it’s also exciting to look back and see just
how far we’ve come. Here, we’re proud to present
“Brookfield Zoo: Then & Now,” a look at our
accomplishments—and just how far we’ve
come—since we opened our gates.
