Adult size: Adults are typically between
3.1 to 3.8 feet tall at the shoulder
and weigh between 135 and 300 pounds.

Zoo habitat: 31st Street outdoor habitats
on the northwest side of the zoo

Habitat and range: Isolated areas
of the Sahara Desert in Northern Africa

Physical features: The addax has a sturdy
build. The most distinguishing feature in both
females and males is a set of long, spiraling
horns. It has a tuft of dark-brown hair on its
forehead and a white X-shaped marking
on its face.

Zoo diet: Herbivore grain, carrots, sweet potatoes,
and grass hay
Conservation status: Critically Endangered*
