THE BIG FIVE OF LAND AND SEA

Join Brookfield Zoo and Shedd Aquarium
members on a wildlife and marine
adventure in South Africa. You’ll begin
your trip in Cape Town, where you’ll have
the chance to explore this sophisticated
city, along with some of nature’s most
breathtaking beauties—spectacular
mountains, rugged shorelines, and the
blue sea.

You will visit the seal colony at Hout Bay
and explore the Cape Point Nature Reserve,
home to 250 species of birds and various
mammals, including baboons, zebras,
and caracals. You’ll visit one of the finest
aquariums in the world and spend time
at an internationally recognized seabird
rehabilitation center.

You will also have the chance to
enjoy whale watching, beach excursions,
horseback riding, 4x4 drives, and more.

Then, search for the “big five”—buffalo,
lions, leopards, elephants, and rhinos—
during a trip to Madikwe Game Reserve,
a world-renowned 165,000-acre wildlife
reserve on the border of Botswana. You
may also spot hippos, giraffes, wild dogs,
hyenas, and cheetahs here.

Optional trip extensions are to
Johannesburg and Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe.
