When you are a professor at a pre-eminent university, you may
not expect to question the value of a traditional college education.
Abel Sanchez looks at education’s digital transformation, MOOCs,
flipped classrooms, and other alternatives to query what the future
holds for secondary and post-secondary education. Using his MIT
classroom, Abel has tested and developed novel educational
methods that allow his students to learn more, retain more, and enjoy
the experience. Abel, an MIT Professor, is the Executive Director of
MIT's Geospatial Data Center, architect of "The Internet of Things"
global network, and architect of data analytics platforms for many
