SWEET POTATO AND APPLE CASSEROLE

        Ingredients
        1 can apple pie filling, 21 ounces

        1/2 cup raisins optional
        1 teaspoons cinnamon
        1/4 to 1/2 cup brown sugar

        3 tablespoons butter
        marshmallows small or large

        1 can sweet potato 34 ounces,
        drained and cut into smaller pieces



        Instructions
        Combine everything but the butter and put into a greased 7x11 inch baking dish. Put
        on top 3 tablespoons butter. Bake at 350 degrees for 3 minutes. Add marshmallows to

        top and put back in oven until the marshmallows are melted and lightly brown.


        I have used this recipe every year at our Thanksgiving dinner.








        CREAMED ONION

        Ingredients
        1-2 bags of small white pearl onions



        Instructions
        Boil onions in hot water with a dash of salt
        until onions are medium to soft.

        Remove from water, cool and then peel.
        Add to white sauce and mix.





        The creamed onions with the white sauce were always served by my Mom, Herta
        Hubler for Thanksgiving. I continue the tradition with my husband, Ron. He would

        make the onions and I would make the white sauce. Ron and our sons, Todd and Drew
        love the creamed onions.
