I probably should have learned a lesson from back in
sixth grade, when I used my mother’s eyebrow pencil to cre-
ate a fake beauty mark (to look like Elizabeth Taylor). That
“falsie” was revealed the day my classmate Mark rubbed it
off and screamed in the schoolyard, “I won the bet!”
