Overview
Collaboration between physicians and advanced practice
providers requires an understanding of the regulations,
professional practice acts, and standard of care considerations.
This course explores those topics through discussion and case
examples that highlight the risk issues. Strategies for effective
communication and reliable systems as well as best practices
for documentation are offered.
Course Objectives
Upon completion of this course, participants should be able to:
1. Identify the top risk issues for those in collaborative
relationships
2. Recognize risk issues that may lead to an allegation of
negligent supervision by the physician
3. Develop protocols and best practices for supervision of
and/or collaboration with advanced practice providers
