Overview
The purpose of this course is to provide guidance regarding
the most common risk management issues associated with
surgical practice (apart from technique or medical judgment).
Course Objectives
At the end of this course, the participant will be able to:
1. Recognize the most common risk management issues
associated with surgical practice.
2. List risks of poor communication, documentation,
diagnostic errors, and other factors that make a claim or
lawsuit indefensible.
3. Identify risk management strategies to reduce risk and
improve patient safety including timeout.
