                   During each phase of the trial, the attorneys will make

                   objections based upon legal principles and the applicable
                   rules. These can often slow down the proceedings, but they

                   are necessary to ensure that only admissible evidence is

                   presented to the jury in the proper manner. The judge is
                   required to rule on each objection. If no objection is made, the

                   judge will not issue a ruling. Therefore, objections are vital to
                   protect the record in the event of an appeal.






































                   The plaintiff’s attorney goes first presenting his or her client’s

                   opening statement. Be prepared to hear statements criticizing

                   you and your medical judgment. Do not outwardly react. Juries
                   often find this to be disrespectful. Let your attorney respond at

                   the appropriate time.



                   After the plaintiff’s attorney states what their side will prove,
                   the defense attorney proceeds to inform the jury of what the
