How do I Get Approval Access to Emory’s Finance Systems for Finance Division Employees?
Overview
Training is required for transactional access to Emory's Financial Systems. The type of training you need
depends on the tasks that you will be performing in the Financial Systems. If you are new to Emory's Financial
Systems, follow the steps in this guide to identify training, request access, and stay informed.
Complete Required Approver Training
Approvers are required to take training to approval transactions in the Financial Systems. Courses are listing in
the Financial Systems Onboarding Tool.
For transactional access, refer to the How do I Get Access to Emory’s Finance Systems for Division of Finance
Employees job aid.
Note: The Institutional Data Management course is always required for any Finance Systems.
1. Register for courses in https://elmprod9.emory.edu . Remember to register for the required Institutional
Data Management (IDM) course.
2. Complete the required Institutional Data Management (IDM) course (410001-9264).
3. Complete the required course for approvers:
a. Compass Workflow and Approving Transactions self-paced eLearning course
(260614).
b. Emory Express for Approvers eLearning self-paced eLearning course (260684).
Complete the Workflow (Approvals) Forms
4. Complete the Workflow Approval form for the appropriate system.
a. Compass Workflow (Approvals)
b. Emory Express Workflow (Approvals)
You will receive access within 2 business days of completing the required course with an
assessment score of 80% and after your Workflow Approval Request Forms has received
departmental approval.
For Workflow Changes:
The chief business officers (CBO) have requested that all requested workflow changes route
through them. The CBO or designee will then submit the workflow change through the
Compass workflow change process.
